For CPAP users shopping for backup power, the Anker SOLIX S2000 combines three traits that matter: a battery large enough for several nights with humidification, a fast UPS switchover for uninterrupted therapy, and a weight that one person can still move to the bedroom. This guide works out how many nights it provides, explains why its low standby draw helps CPAP more than most loads, and covers the setup details.

What Anker lists

The S2000 is rated around 2,010Wh with 1,500W continuous output, a UPS switchover near 10 milliseconds, standby consumption in the single-digit watts, and a weight in the mid-30-pound range. Confirm on Anker’s current spec sheet. Usable AC energy is approximately 1,720 to 1,800Wh.

CPAP nights per charge

CPAP configuration Average draw Per 8-hour night Nights on ~1,750Wh
Blower only ~25-35W ~200-280Wh ~6-8.5
Humidifier low-medium ~45-65W ~360-520Wh ~3.4-4.8
Humidifier + heated tube ~80-110W ~640-880Wh ~2-2.7
Two CPAPs, humidifiers low ~90-120W ~720-960Wh ~1.8-2.4

Measure your machine for one normal night with a plug-in energy meter to replace these estimates with your own number.

Why low standby helps CPAP

A CPAP is a small load. When the load is small, the station’s own overhead becomes a larger share of total consumption. Anker built the S2000 around a very low idle draw, so more of the battery goes to the CPAP. During the day, when the CPAP is off, the station wastes little energy waiting for the next night. Over a four-night outage, that efficiency can add up to a meaningful fraction of an extra night.

UPS changeover

A 10-millisecond switchover is shorter than the ride-through time of typical CPAP power supplies, so the machine should keep running without a restart when the grid drops. Test it: with the CPAP running from the S2000 and the station plugged into the wall, switch off the wall outlet or breaker and confirm therapy continues without interruption.

Bedroom setup

  • At mid-30 pounds, the S2000 is light enough to keep beside the bed permanently. Leave clear space around its vents.
  • If fan noise while charging bothers you, Anker’s app offers a Silent Mode that limits charging power; at a CPAP’s modest discharge load, the fans typically stay quiet.
  • Set the app up before an outage; Anker notes that settings changes and firmware updates require it.

Humidifier planning

If an outage runs past three or four nights without recharging, reducing humidifier and heated-tube settings can roughly double the remaining nights. Discuss acceptable settings with your sleep physician or equipment supplier in advance.

Recharging between nights

Anker quotes a full wall recharge in under two hours at the S2000’s fastest setting, so a short daytime visit to a working outlet can restore several nights of CPAP use. The app also lets you cap the charging rate, down to around 100W, which is useful if you are topping up from a small inverter generator or a car inverter that cannot supply much power. With a 400W-class solar panel, Anker estimates a 20 to 80 percent charge in a few hours of direct sun, which is roughly two to three nights of CPAP with a humidifier on low.

Safety

Do not plug the S2000 into a wall outlet to power a bedroom circuit; circuit-level backup requires a transfer switch installed by a licensed electrician. If a gas generator recharges the station, it must run outdoors at least 20 feet from the house, never in a garage or on a porch, and CO alarms should be installed near bedrooms. Avoid charging the battery below about 32°F and keep it charged heading into storm season.

FAQ

Can I use a CPAP DC cable with the S2000?

If the S2000 has a 12V output compatible with your CPAP manufacturer’s approved DC cable, yes, and it skips inverter losses. Check the S2000’s port specifications and your CPAP maker’s accessory list.

Is the S2000 too much battery for CPAP alone?

For one person and a few nights without humidification, a 500Wh to 1kWh unit may suffice. The S2000 makes sense if you want several nights with humidification or also want to back up a fridge.

Bottom line

The Anker SOLIX S2000 can run a CPAP for about two to eight nights depending on humidifier settings, with a fast UPS switchover and very low standby losses. It is light enough to live beside the bed. Check Anker’s current spec sheet, test the changeover, and involve your equipment provider in outage planning.
